What is RUNFELLOW Run Club?

RUNFELLOW Run Club (RFRC) is a weekly run club for runners of all abilities and paces. Novice and seasoned runners join together in a FREE, fun, and friendly group that cheers on each and every runner as they finish. It reinforces the RUNFELLOW motto of "motivating your fellow runner" and recognizing that everyone needs a little extra push.

Do I need to register or sign-up?

No, you don’t need to register, just show up a few minutes early if you're new. We ask that you review and acknowledge our Run Club waiver and recognize that RFRC is a voluntary activity that involves risks (running at night, running in traffic, etc.). RUNFELLOW (including its founders, hosts and associates bars) is not responsible for any injuries incurred while participating.

How much does it cost?

Nothing, it's completely FREE! However if you want to support RUNFELLOW, you can shop the full line of performance gear at

What time do you meet?

We meet at 7:30pm every week (unless noted otherwise). It is recommend that new runners arrive at least 10 minutes early so they can meet people and become familiar with the course.

When & where do you meet?

We meet at a different bar or restaurant each week. On Tuesday night, we typically run routes through Somerville and Cambridge while on Thursday night, RFRC has routes throughout Boston and Cambridge.

How do I find out where we meet?

The meet-up location, course map, and any additional information you need can be found at Chase us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for weather updates, schedule changes and special events.

How far do you run?

The course varies each week, but we typically run between 3 to 5 miles.

What's the route? What if I get lost?

Every Monday by 9am the course map is posted to You can sync your smartphone to and download the course map. We also provide printed maps at the beginning of each run.

Is there a set pace?

No, we don't have a set pace. RUNFELLOW Run Club welcomes runners of all-abilities and we mean that! It doesn’t matter if you run 7 or 14 minute miles, we like your pace no matter what it is. On days with longer distances (4.5 - 5 miles), abbreviated courses are also provided for those not up for a longer run. We know what you're thinking, and no, you're not too slow, so just join us already!

I'm not a runner or I'm new to it, can I still join you?

Yes, however in an effort to make sure everyone has a great time at Run Club, we ask that you be considerate of your pace. If you find your pace exceeds a 14-minute mile pace, whether walking or running, it's recommended that you do an abbreviated version of the course. Listen to your body and check with your doctor before starting a new exercise routine.

What should I wear? Do I need to bring anything?

This is a running club, so wear running clothes (duh). You don't need to go out and buy a new performance outfit, but a good pair of running sneakers and the proper layers for the current temperature are key. If you are looking to spice up your running ensemble, check out and show your support for the brand. We recommend moisture wicking fabric, which helps you stay drier (and fresher) longer. It is recommended to bring a change of clothes for post-run, especially if you know you get extra sweaty. The only things you need (besides a positive attitude) are safety gear and water. We run at night and in very urban locations, so safety is paramount. Please come to Run Club equipped with blinky lights and reflective gear of some sort. Headlamps are also a great idea since sidewalks can be dark and unpredictable.

I'm coming from work or school, what should I do with my bag?

You can stash your bag at the bar or restaurant where we'll meet. Please note that neither RUNFELLOW nor the bar is responsible for your belongings. We recommend leaving valuables at home if you can help it. Understand that leaving your bag is at your own risk.

What about the weather, do you ever cancel?

We are a New England based Run Club so we almost expect the weather to be uncooperative. Because of this, we only cancel Run Club if the weather becomes dangerous, meaning:

  • Lightning
  • Dangerously high temperatures
  • Icy conditions
  • Dangerously cold temperatures

Be sure to check on the day of Run Club to find out of any changes to our normal operating procedures. We will also post any updates to our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages

Can I bring a friend? My dog? My kid in a stroller?

Of course! We’re a very welcoming and friendly group, so we always say "the more the merrier". Dogs and kiddos are welcome as long as they have safety gear on as well.

How many people participate?

The group varies each week, depending on weather and course length. We have anywhere from 30 to 90 people show up to run every week.

Do you go out after the run?

Yes! After all of the runners come back and make their way through the high-five line, we head into the bar for drinks, snacks, and a good time. Be sure to bring your ID and money so you can partake in the post-run festivities. A change of clothes is also encouraged.

You meet at a bar, what if I'm not 21?

Our runs are open to all ages, so join us for the run no matter what. The age policy varies from bar to bar. Some places will allow you to be there under age and not drink, while others won't. Check with the bar before you come.

I still have questions, who can I ask?

Need a question answered that we didn't touch upon? Contact one of our ambassadors who are happy to help, by emailing or posting to our Run Club group Facebook page.
